COMPUTER CLERK AND ASSISTANT

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Positions, Computer Clerk and Assistant Series, 0335. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of microcomputer applications software to perform basic troubleshooting and problem resolution on the Wide Area Network (WAN); coordinating with users and acquire information about subject matter content, processing purposes, program objectives, and similar information for use in module and modification programming; administering programming techniques appropriate to recognize program modification requirements that can be designed and implemented without impact on total system logic; initiating re-design (patch) of those program segments; writing brief summaries of own programming, processing control, documentation, library maintenance, programming records; processing programs and systems interrelationships to recognize. OR EDUCATION:
Successfully completed 2 years of graduate level education in a field directly related which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Computer Science and Computer Engineer type education. NOTE:

You must submit a copy of transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of personal computer (PC) equipment, internal computer processes, application and utility programs, a wide range of computer techniques analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify, advise problem solving IT hardware components, modify programs or procedures, take corrective actions to manage accountability to identify and comply with recordkeeping. Knowledge of a wide range of computer techniques, requirements, sources and procedures to recommend installations of software, upgrades to maintain non-standard desktop software Knowledge to apply Unit Equipment Custodians (UECs) related processes and instructions of the Information Technology Equipment (ITE) environment. Knowledge of the standardized ITE rules, methods, operations, procedures, and problems sufficient to understand and act upon their effect on priorities and customer requirements. Skill to assess ITE equipment capability to numerous situations, programs/applications and/or modifications to prepare system documentation; Skill in diagnosing and resolving problems with telecommunications in order to carry out assignments. Knowledge of the equipment, operating configurations, applications processed, and the impact of a variety of Commercial Off the Shelf Software (COTS) functionality on the network and standard operating system used on the installation. Determines and analyzes requirements of configuration management procedures in order to process requests for software and its capabilities. Skill in implementing back-up recovery procedures, reallocating equipment usage to work around equipment malfunctions, recognizing priority contentions, removing work from an operating schedule, and other similar actions involving knowledge of the equipment, programs, and operating options. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
