SECURITY ASSISTANT

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Current or Prior Federal Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). External Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-06 (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). This specialized experience includes possessing practical knowledge of commonly applied security methods, rules, regulations, principles, and procedures to effectively support the installation's security forces training program. Practical knowledge of various security specialties such as physical, personnel, industrial, operational, and informational security to resolve questions and aid in developing lesson plans. Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to support office and security operations. Practical knowledge of security forces programs and objectives and military/civilian security forces training program processes to assist in developing comprehensive training program and identify training needs. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE NON-FEDERAL FEDERAL EMPLOYEES:
I have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-06 (or higher) grade level or equivalent in other pay systems that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. This specialized experience includes possessing practical knowledge of commonly applied security methods, rules, regulations, principles, and procedures to effectively support the installations security forces training program. Practical knowledge of various security specialties such as physical, personnel, industrial, operational, and informational security to resolve questions and aid in developing lesson plans. Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to support office and security operations. Practical knowledge of security forces programs and objectives and military/civilian security forces training program processes to assist in developing comprehensive training program and identify training needs' do not have the specialized experience related to the position being filled. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. Current or Prior Federal Applicants:
One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. External Applicants:
One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Comprehensive knowledge of mission, policy processes, procedures and customer service goals sufficient to manage the reports and analysis program, as well as knowledge of general office clerical functions. Knowledge of a wide range of security systems, concepts, principles and practices, including physical security, law enforcement, antiterrorism and force protection efforts. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security program to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the unit. Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, guide others and accomplish multiple ongoing projects. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately. Physical The work is primarily sedentary. Some walking and standing occurs during reviews of offices where classified information is stored. The reviews are not conducted under arduous conditions. Work Environment The work is performed in an office setting. Most reviews are also conducted in office settings. VOLUNTEER WORK

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
