QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST

Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5):
Experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas. Examples include:
Reviewing production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements. Reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans. Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system. Verifying by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance. Identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective action. Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods. Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities. Reading, interpreting, and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals. Reviewing and evaluating supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes assisting as the focal point on product quality deficiency reports matters for engines and commodities. Providing a standardized method, supporting databases, tools, and procedures for the warfighter to formally communicate user/operator-identified deficiencies or proposed enhancements impacting operational safety, suitability, and effectiveness of hardware, software, and mission critical systems to managing activities for investigation, analysis, and resolution. OR EDUCATION:
Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related, in one of the major studies:
quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. NOTE:

You must submit a copy of your transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a vast array of Missile Facility Depot Maintenance disciplines common to repair, modification, overhaul and manufacture of DoD assets, components and subcomponents, as applicable to a broad product area. (e. g, avionics, electronic and electrical equipment, aerospace equipment, components, and systems, raw processed or fabricated materials, missiles, missile components, ground transportation equipment, explosives handling, transportation and storage of missiles, and specialized industrial processes) including:
product specifications and standards; production methods and processes required to assure product quality; material processes and treatments; use of specialized inspection and test equipment; and preservation, packing and packaging techniques, document and data control, and usage, configuration management, control of nonconfonning product, and production processes. 2. Knowledge of a range of complex aerospace systems and products and general administrative and technical skills as applicable with controlling the quality of products manufactured, maintained, overhauled, and or modified . 3. Knowledge of and skill in executing QA methodologies to asses technical compliance and identify and analyze complex technical problems. 4. Knowledge of the practices, policies and procedures related to executing QA methodologies to assess technical compliance, identify and analyze complex technical problems, while ensuring safety. 5. Knowledge of the entire scope of the MXW quality programs and its relationship to other functional activities within the ALC. AFMC, and the industry complex to include it's relationship to the wing's quality management system, AS9100 quality principles and objectives, and knowledge of standard safety and health practices and established policies and procedures. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing to provide managers, supervisors, and employees program status, requirements, and evaluation/analysis results. 7. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers, managers, supervisors, and peers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 8. Ability to perform comprehensive assessments and meaningful analysis of internal/external data to provide management the foundation to assess problem areas and make sound business decisions. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
