Count change fund, set up cash drawers, and verify the accuracy of each drawer. Turn on the master cash control processor and set up the office terminal(s) for the day's business. Issue change to cashiers. Operate cash register, as needed. Periodically check cash register drawers to prevent extensive fund accumulation. Bag and seal cash and checks, make up change list for secure pick up and deposit. Verify cashier records against total of change funds and sales records. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
