PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (MISSILES)
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-10, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes managing work in progress to include determining causes of production delays; recommends and implements corrective action to minimize delays in flow days. Verifies funding, labor hours, machinery availability, material requirements, equipment and work specifications that will meet scheduled requirements, take corrective action as required. Develops complete training plans. Conducts initial and recurring training for all missile maintenance operations center board controllers and Senior Controllers. Directs all maintenance efforts performed by missile maintenance personnel to execute the daily maintenance schedule. Reviews/verifies official forms such as the nuclear tasking orders, maintenance assistance requests, technical orders, engineering technical assistance requests and daily, weekly and monthly maintenance requests, initiated by scheduling personnel. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in -grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-10 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the production organization, to include all departments and contractors being coordinated both internal and external and all production methods and procedures, labor, machinery, and manpower and material requirements that is both comprehensive and intensive for the repair, overhaul, and modification of a variety of very complex combat and strategic fixed wing aircraft, major end items, and/or major systems. 2. Knowledge of industrial and related work processes, facilities, methods, equipment, and manning requirements to perform production control functions to evaluate and recommend solutions to problem areas in the shop. 3. Ability to understand supply operations and technical program requirements to apply established supply policies and procedures to ensure parts/material support for production operations and for items that are urgent, critical, or require special handling. 4. Skill in planning un-programmed workloads, scheduling and balancing both planned and unplanned workloads, maintaining production schedules, and preventing or alleviating production delays. 5. Ability to investigate, analyze, plan, and implement corrective action as well as establish effective cost controls for difficult and complex production problems. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK
Experience:
Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
