COMMAND POST SPECIALIST

This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. IAW, DoDI 3020-42, Defense Continuity Programs. This position is a Key position. It cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without impairing the capability of the organization to- function effectively. Unless an alternate can be designated to perform the duties of this position during wartime, the incumbent of this Key position must be screened from military recall status. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions Series, 0301 SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge in applying established analytical and planning methods, procedures, and techniques to conventional issues concerning the execution of emergency and contingency response plans. Practical knowledge of the organization, programs, mission, and functions of the assigned organization and agency in order to plan, schedule, and coordinate command post controller actions. Knowledge of Joint Chiefs of Staff, Air Force, major command, and wing Force Readiness Reporting program and operating and reporting principles, practices, procedures and regulations applicable to force readiness reporting responsibilities on a military installation. OR EDUCATION:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. NOTE:

You must submit a copy of your transcript. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in -grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of organization missions and staff management concepts, principles, and methodologies related to military Command Post operations; in areas such as command and control, contingency operations, emergency actions, training and readiness, and military operations planning and reporting. 2. Ability to gather, interpret, analyze, and coordinate information to support organizational decision-making; and analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. 3. Knowledge of safety, security, and force readiness, regulations, practices, and procedures. 4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. 5. Ability to access or locate information through the use of a personal computer and software programs PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
